MONTHLY NEWSLETTER FOR OCTOBER 2019
Just to reiterate due the alterations which have now started and are well under way. Social events unfortunately are on hold, however the club is open to socialise, have a drink and a game of snooker, so please feel free bob in. As stated in the September newsletter please refer to the web site for update information.
I am pleased to be able to report that our new furniture has now been chosen. We have been very fortunate that we have received some very generous donations, but the fund is still in need of a top up so please continue to give where you can as every little helps, thank you to all those who have given donations so far they are very much appreciated.
Looking to the time when all the refurbishment has been completed and the new furniture is in situ I have arranged to begin the Christmas period and the full reopening of the club with a Concert at the club on Friday 6th December 2019. The group will be the one that entertained us at Haydock Park Golf Club for our 125th year celebrations, ‘Young Once’ I am sure that those who attended that event at Haydock will be able to tell you how good they are. The cost will be £10pp which includes the entertainment and buffet. Numbers will be limited so if you are interested please contact me via my email. I will start collating a list due to the notice board at the club not being available at present.
I am also going to arrange a Dinner Dance at Haydock Park Golf Club in March, (where there will be dancing)
I understand that the snooker competitions have now almost concluded. The Christmas Handicap competition is just around the corner but with the disruption it will have to be organised when the alterations have been completed.
The bowling season has now come to an end.
Despite the cancellation of the Foster Merit Competition – to enable the celebration of the clubs 125th anniversary – overall there has been a slight increase in the numbers participating in Club Competitions.
That’s all for this month folks
