PLEA FOR HELP = FROM THE GARDENING GANG (OF 4).
Anyone who would like to assist the gardening gang would be very warmly welcomed. As you can appreciate the grounds are very large and there are many jobs that have to be covered. The main day that they do the gardening is Tuesday mornings however, you could come up any day that suits you, but if it isn’t on Tuesday morning then it would be necessary to contact Ian Gerrard in order for tools to be available.
It has also been suggested that if members are willing to get involved they could just choose a small area to work such as part of a border to weed and keep tidy etc but any jobs could be arranged by talking to Ian.
Ian Gerrard Greens Update
Wednesday 30th October 2019.
Yesterday the greens were sprayed with moss -killer, weed-killer and fertilizer. In about a week’s time they will be hollow-tined. Then when the temperature is right they will be seeded and top-dressed. There will then be a period of waiting for about 2 weeks until the seed has germinated and taken hold.
Later in the year we will hopefully be able to open a green for winter use weather-permitting.
Please keep off the greens until the “Greens Closed” signs have been removed.
I think that is all for this month folks
