Welcome to our newsletter which we will be posting each month.
This will be a great way of communicating the activities occurring within the club and also inform members of any snooker and bowling events.
If anyone has something of interest that they would like to be included in the newsletter please make contact with Pauline Henderson , who will consider the request.
We are now close to the start of February and the following activities will be happening during the month.
The Bill McHenry Afternoon Pairs snooker competition is currently being played. The final will be played before the bowling season starts. After the final has been played there will be a buffet for competitors and guests, cost £5 per person. (Watch this space for details)
The monthly Friday hotpot will be held this coming Friday 1st February at a cost of £6 which includes a sweet.
On Saturday 2nd February the well known Houghton Weavers are performing at the club. This event is sold out.
The Friday Tea is on Friday 15th February from 4.30pm onwards. The menu can be found on the website and at the club and should be booked through Linda Collins.
Saturday 23rd February will be Quiz and buffet. Further details to follow.
AGM Wednesday 27th February we hope as many members as possible will attend the AGM.
The Bowling season to not far away now. The greens are looking wonderful and very appealing. Unfortunately, as the fungal disease hasn’t been treated yet, due to unfavourable weather, the greens remain closed. We will notify you as soon as the greens are open for play.
The important date for your diary is April 6th 2019 when the greens will be officially opened by the President. A match will then take place between the President’s and Chairman’s teams. This match is open to all bowlers. We hope that as many bowlers as possible will participate in the opening of the greens to celebrate the start of a new bowling season.
It is also hoped that other activities of interest can be developed on evenings when the club is quiet which may encourage members to use the club more regularly.
