We are almost on our way, at last! Since the last update we have now selected our building partner, Novus Solutions, who will be the principal contractor and manage all aspects of the work and any sub-contractors.
We have learnt today that we satisfy all the requirements for receiving the award and we are now authorised to start work on the construction phase of the project
We have a provisional start date of Monday, 16th September 2019. A further meeting with Novus is planned for the end of August to discuss all aspects of the project and how we will manage to ensure that we can keep the club running as near normal as possible.
Indications suggest that the project will be completed in about six weeks when we can then draw down the Sport England grant and add our contribution. Our contribution is over £25,000 to the total project cost of £75,000.
It is inevitable that there will be some general disruption to normal working and we may have to close the Club for periods at certain times. We will endeavour to keep you informed on progress and any potential issues as the project progresses.
We will also need some willing volunteers to help move equipment and clear rooms ready for the builders.
We have reached a significant milestone in our development and the fruits of all the initial work by Wally Ashcroft, Ron Jackson, the Board and Project Committee, to ensure that we will have a clubhouse to be proud of.
A big thank you goes to Sport England for supporting our project, Audrey Bacon for a most generous donation and to you our members.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding during the building project.
